about Hilary

For the past 20 years, I have had the greatest honor of being Mommy to my beautiful and talented daughter, Eva; the second love of my life. As an avid volunteer in Eva’s middle school and high school, I observed the juxtaposition of trying to give advice when advice may be most needed conflicting with the cry for independence that young women exert and forge as they prepare for life away from home.  It became evident that the advice must come in the right way from the right person, ie, NOT Mom.

Hence, Dorm to Doorstep was born.  My solution to being YOUR partner in conveying some of those simple yet highly valuable tips, tidbits and advice to help YOUR girl live her best life!

I  hold a B.A. from Hollins University and an M.B.A. from Arizona State University.  I am a recovering economist and spent ten years with Intel Corporation learning, failing, succeeding, and impacting in the areas of community relations, public affairs and marketing communications.  In 2001, I married the first love of her life, Mr. Tony, after making it clear in a way that only I can on the third date that if he wasn’t interested in a serious relationship and marriage, that they end their courtship post stat.  Luckily, he hung in there.

My varied list of unique accomplishments include serving as the presidential greeter to President George W. Bush, volunteering in a myriad of positions including President all the way down to painter for more than 15 non-profit organizations in Arizona and Colorado, cooking a mean Khoresh Gheymeh and Chicken Tikka Masala, tipping my toe into the lifestyle blogger/influencer world with loveglittergirl.com, assisting in my daughter’s acting career as chief Momager, and self-proclaimed Auntie to my daughter’s friends.

You can find me hanging out on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok dispensing  content from my book as well as other everyday tips, tidbits and tales.  I love receiving feedback from girls like this:

loved your tip today on dealing with emotions during conflicts;
your views always have such lovely advice.

As an informal accompaniment to the book, meet Your Daily Three; a 3 minute guided meditation focused on gratitude and intention setting that is perfect for people of all ages (including young women) who seek to ground themselves while juggling life’s many balls.

Thank you for stopping by and I would love to get to know you better on my social channels.  Go out and make it a great day!

XO, Hilary
